Arthur J. Gallagher & Co.. The Group's principal activity is to provide insurance brokerage, risk management and related services to commercial, industrial, institutional, governmental organizations and personal accounts. The Group operates in three segments: Brokerage, Risk Management and Financial Services. The Brokerage Services provides commission or fee compensation, places commercial property and casualty and benefit-related insurance to clients' managing of risk. The Risk Management provides third-party administration, loss control and risk management consulting and insurance property appraisals. The Financial Services is responsible for the management of the Group's diversified investment portfolio. During 2006, the Group acquired 11 companies. The Group operates in the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Bermuda Canada, Scotland and Singapore.
