Capital Guaranty Corporation is an insurance holding company that insures municipal bonds through its wholly owned subsidiary, Capital Guaranty Insurance Company. Shares of the company commenced trading on the New York Stock Exchange on September 30, 1993. The company is presently authorized to write financial guaranty insurance in 50 states, three U.S. territories and the District of Columbia. Capital Guaranty serves financial advisors, underwriters and the investing public. Premiums earned accounted for 41% of 1994 revenues; investment income, 55% and other, 4%.
