PMI Group, Inc.(The). The Group's principal activity is to provide credit enhancement and other products that promote homeownership and facilitate mortgage transactions in the capital markets. The Group operates in four segments: US Mortgage Insurance, International, Financial Guaranty and Other. US Mortgage Insurance Operations offers mortgage insurance products in the United States. International Operations offers mortgage insurance and other credit enhancement products in Europe, Australia, New Zealand and Hong Kong. Financial Guaranty segment provides primary financial guaranty insurance. Other segment consists of holding company and contract underwriting operations, equity in earnings primarily from unconsolidated strategic investment Fairbanks.
