E-L Financial Corporation Limited. The Group's principal activities are underwriting of property and casualty, life and health insurance policies and annuity contracts for individuals and groups. The Group operates as an investment holding company through The Dominion of Canada General Insurance Company and The Empire Life Insurance Company. The Group also manages a portfolio of publicly traded fixed income and equity securities both directly and indirectly through a number of closed-end investment fund corporations and other investment. The Group's operations are in Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia and the Atlantic Provinces. General insurance accounted for 56% of revenues; Life insurance, 42% and Portfolio investments, 2%.
