Company Description
Euroland Plus Smaller Companies plc (formerly The Second Market Investment Company plc) invests in companies which are quoted on the second market of the French Stock Exchange, with the objective of achieving long term capital appreciation. In May 1998 the shareholders decided to enlarge the investment horizon of the Fund, predominantly to smaller and medium companies in those Countries of Continental Europe who were to join the Euro at the end of 1998 or were to join the Euro by the end of 2002. The directors also gave the investment managers the authority to include investments in Swiss and Norweigian companies up to a maximum in total of 10% of the Company's net assets. The portfolio of investments is managed by Lombard Odier International Portfolio Management Limited. The largest of the companys' investments include; Acciona, Dassault Systemes, Altran Technologies, Pryca, Alpha Credit Bank and Anglo Irish Bank. Investment income accounted for 98% of 1998 revenues and interest income, 2%.
