Company Description
3i Group PLC. The Group's principal activity is providing private equity and venture capital. The objective of the Group is to earn attractive returns on its investment commensurate with the risk being taken. The Group is an Investment Company as defined by Section 266 of the Companies Act 1985. The Group has been approved by HM Revenue and Customs as an Investment Trust under Section 842 of the Income and Corporation Taxes Act 1988 for the year ended 31-Mar-2005. It operates through a network of offices in Europe, Asia and the United States. It also manages a number of funds established with major institutions and pension funds to make equity and equity-related investments in unquoted businesses in Europe and Asia.3i Investments PLC acts as investment manager to the Group for a fee based on the work done and costs incurred in providing corporate and administrative services.
