Ankerbrot AG, which was founded under the name "Wiener Brot- und Gebaeckfabrik" in 1891, is the country's largest supplier of bread and bakery products. Ankerbrot's range comprises mainly different varieties of bread, confectionery, pastries and ready-to-serve specialities. At the end of 1998 Ankerbrot had 332 branches throughout Austria. The company has mainly domestic subsidiaries.
