Perkins Foods Plc manufactures and supplies frozen and chilled foods and imports and distributes fresh produce throughout Northern Europe. The group supplies convenience foods and fresh fruit and vegetables to major supermarket chains and catering groups across Europe. During 1999 the group completed three acquisitions: Traditions d' Asie SA, a manufacturer of chilled ethnic snacks; Fraisnor SA, a manufacturer of chilled pasta meals, and Lenders Foods Limited, a manufacturer of chilled stir fry dishes and sauces. In the first quarter of 2000, the group completed two further acquisitions: Brink Pluimveeprodukten Holding BV, a manufacturer of chilled and frozen poultry products, and Brindelices SA, a manufacturer of chilled snack salads. Chilled foods accounted for 52% of 1999 revenues and frozen foods, 48%.
