Dean Foods Company. The principal activities of the Group are the processing, distribution and sale of dairy, pickle and other specialty food products. The Company operates under three business segments: DAIRY like fluid milk, cultured products, ice cream and extended shelf life products; SPECIALTY PRODUCTS like powdered products, refrigerated salad dressings, sauces, puddings, dips, as well as the operations of the Group's transportation subsidiary and NATIONAL REFRIGERATES like whipping creams, half-and-half dairy creamers, non-dairy coffee creamers, lactose-reduced milks and aerosol whipped creams. The Company acquired Land O'Lakes Upper Midwest fluid division and Nalley's pickle business in fiscal 2001.
