Raisio Oyj Formerly known as Raisio Yhtyma Oyj. The Group's principal activities are to develop, manufacture and market foodstuffs, animal feeds and chemical products. The Group's activities are carried out through 3 divisions: Raisio Chemicals, Raisio Nutrition and Raisio Life Sciences. The Raisio Chemicals serves the paper industry supplying functional paper chemicals and chemical concepts including latex binders, specialty chemicals and starch binders. The Raisio Nutrition comprises the Food, Animal Feeds and Malt business areas and the Grain Starch business. The division produces and markets grain and vegetable oil based foods and potato products; highly processed animal feed mixes for livestock animals and special feeds for fish and fur animals. The Raisio Life Sciences produces functional food ingredients and food diagnostics including stanol ester, the active ingredient in Benecol, which lowers cholesterol. On 02-Jun-2004, the Raisio Chemicals was divested. Raisio nutrition accounted for 63% of 2005 gross revenues; Raisio chemicals, 29% and Raisio life sciences, 8%
