Del Monte Royal Foods Limited is a leading international producer and distributor of branded fruit products as well as the canning and export of beverages. Its immediate holding company is Del Monte Royal Corporation Limited, which holds approximately 46.4% of the company's issued capital, with the ultimate holding company being Del Monte Royal Holdings Limited. In December 1992 it acquired Del Monte Foods International Limited (DMFI) a major integrated international food company based and incorporated in the United Kingdom. As a result of this acquisition, the group now has perpetual, exclusive and royalty-free licences covering the use of the " Del Monte" trademark and trade name on processed food, including processed fruit and vegetables, throughout western and eastern Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Beverages accounted for 31% of 1999 revenues; pineapple, 26%; deciduous fruit, 21%; tomatoes, vegetables and other, 12% and confectionery and dry mixes, 10%.
