Schlotzsky's, Inc.. The Group's principal activity is to operate and franchise quick service restaurants that feature made-to-order hot sandwiches and pizzas served on buns and crusts. The menu also includes wraps, chips, salads, soups, fresh baked cookies and other desserts and beverages. The Group operates through two business segments: Restaurant Operations and Franchise Operations. The Restaurant Operation segment includes 15 restaurants operated by the Group for building brand awareness, product development, concept refinement, product and process testing and training. Franchise operations consist of franchising restaurants, assisting franchisees in the development of restaurants and licensing the manufacture of the Group's brand products. On 31-Dec-2003, the Group operates through a network of 524 franchised restaurants and 37 company-operated restaurants located in the United States, Turkey, South Korea, China, Guatemala, Canada and Germany.
