Fleming Cos Inc. The Group's principal activities are the distribution and retail services of consumable products. It operates through two segments: distribution and retail. The products consist of food, general merchandise, health and beauty care and Fleming Brands. Through the distribution segment, the products are distributed to the customers that operates approximately 3,000 supermarkets, 6,800 convenience stores and over 2,000 supercenters, discount stores, limited assortment stores, drug stores specialty stores and other stores across the United States. This segment has a network of 24 full-line distribution centers and six general merchandise/specialty foods and five convenience store distribution centers. The retail segment operates 116 stores, predominately supermarkets that focus on perishable products. On 18-Jun-2002, the Group acquired Core-Mark International, Inc.
