Company Description
American Medical Holdings, Inc. was organised in 1989 to acquire American Medical International. It is one of the leading hospital management companies in the United States. The company's hospitals provide a full range of inpatient and outpatient services including medical/surgical, obstetric and diagnostic services as well as services provided by intensive care units, emergency rooms, laboratories and pharmacies. Ancillary healthcare facilities, such as ambulatory, occupational and rural healthcare clinics, are also provided at each of its hospitals. The company currently has 36 domestic acute care hospitals and one psychiatric hospital conatining a total of 9,021 licensed beds, which are principally located in major metropolitan areas. The company has operations in 13 states including Texas, Calfornia and Florida. Medicare/medicaid accounted for 43% of fiscal 1994 revenues; non-contracted services, 29%; contracted services, 25% and other, 3%.
