Province Healthcare Company. The Group's principal activities are to own and operate acute care hospitals located in non-urban markets. These acute care hospitals provide services commonly available in acute care hospitals, such as internal medicine, general surgery, cardiology, oncology, orthopedics, obstetrics, rehabilitation, subacute care, as well as diagnostic and emergency services. The hospitals also provide outpatient and ancillary healthcare services such as outpatient surgery, laboratory, radiology, respiratory therapy, home healthcare and physical therapy. The Group currently owns or leases 21 general acute care hospitals in 13 states with a total of 2,529 licensed beds. The Group also provides management and professional services to third party hospitals. Patient Health Care Services accounted for 99% of 2004 revenues and Management and Professional Consulting Services, 1%
