Company Description
Pacific Scientific Company manufactures and markets electrical equipment and aircraft safety equipment. This equipment is used by companies involved in factory and office automation, aircraft, electric utilities, semiconductor manufacturing and pharmaceuticals. The electrical equipment segment produces motors and controls, particle detection instruments and products for the electric utility industry. The aircraft safety segment produces fire detection and suppression equipment, personnel safety restraints and similar products used in commercial and military aircraft and military vehicles. The company purchased Automation Intelligence, Inc., Powertec Industrial Corporation and certain operating assets of Unidynamics/Phoenix, Inc. Electrical equipment accounted for 75% of 1996 revenues and aircraft safety equipment, 25%.
