Applied Science and Technology, Inc. designs, develops, manufactures and markets equipment using plasma and power generation technologies. The company's precision reactive gas processing is used in semiconductor, medical and industrial production applications. The products manufactured are plasma systems, microwave power and control systems and ozone supply systems. The customers of the company include Applied Materials, GaSonics International, Lam Research, FSI International, Semitool, Silicon Vally Group and Ulvac. The company acquired substantially all of the assets of the Shamrock product line from Sputtered Films, Inc. in fiscal 2000. Semi-conductor processing accounted for 77% of fiscal 2000 revenues; medical and industrial processes, 14% and integrated process systems, 9%.
