Ikegai Corporation was established in 1949 and manufactures numerical control lathes, machine centers, plastic forming machinery, packaging machinery and foundry products. The consolidated activities also include rental and leasing of real estate, hotel operations, non-life insurance agency and plastic processing. Machine tools accounted for 63% of fiscal 1999 revenues; industrial machinery, 20%; high speed diesel engines, 9%; foundry products, 5% and other, 3%. The company has eighteen consolidated subsidiaries, sixteen in Japan and one each in the United States and Germany. Overseas sales accounted for 24.3% of fiscal 1999 revenues.
