Meristem PLC manufactures and markets formulated chemical and mineral products. The groups activities are divided into three main divisions 1) Coating and Maintenance; which manufactures and sells a range of protection coatings, branded Copon and Thortex. 2) Cleaning Materials; which offers a range of formulated chemical products, including paints, lubricants, cleaning agents and automative care products. The group also markets its own range of branded products which are sold directly to the end users. 3) Industrial Minerals and Chemicals; which offers powder processing services including milling, granulation and tableting to a range of industrial customers. This division also manufactures a product range which includes desiccants, viscosity modifiers and tablets. Coating and maintenance products accounted for 44% of 1999 revenues; industrial materials and chemicals, 30% and cleaning materials, 26%.
