Societe Seguin Moreau et Cie SA manufactures and distributes oak casks used by the wine maturing industry. It is the European leader in this area. The casks are made from French, American and Russian oak wood planks. Each type of wood used is for a specific range of wines. French oak is used for the top of the range wines, American oak for the middle to the top of the range wines and Russian oak for middle of the range wines. Societe Sequin Moreau et Cie SA has subsidiaries in the United States (Seguin Moreau Holdings, Inc., Seguin Moreau Napa Cooperage, Inc., Seguin Moreau U.S.A., Inc.), Australia (Seguin Moreau Australia PTY, Inc.) as well as in France (Seguin Moreau & Cie, Sambois SARL). It is also involved in a joint-venture in Russia known as Adyghe Moreau. Societe Seguin Moreau et Cie SA has a range of contacts and partnerships with the wine-growers in each country to which it exports and so does not depend on large contracts for its products.
