Plate Glass & Shatterprufe Industries Limited is a diversified manufacturer and distributor operating in four primary sectors. (a) Glass SA manufactures automotive glass, distributes, installs and exports automotive & building glass. (b) PG Bison manufactures wood based products and supplies these and allied products to the furniture and building industries in South Africa. (c) Belron International operates primarily in the automotive repair & replacement glass market with operations in 15 countries. (d) PG Industries, Zimbabwe, manufactures and upgrades woodbased products for the building industry, manufactures safety glass and distributes glass, timber, board and building materials to the furniture and building industries. During fiscal 1999 the group acquired the French and German operations of Heywood Williams Ltd. Motor glass, replacement and original, accounted for 87% of fiscal 1999 revenues; building products, 7%; furniture, 5% and other products, 1%.
