A.M. Castle & Company. The Group's principal activity is to purchase, store, process and distribute specialty metals and plastics. It operates in two segments : Metals and Plastics. The Metals segment includes the distribution of carbon, stainless steel and non-ferrous metal products. The Plastics segment includes servicing a wide variety of industrial plastics. It operates service centers in various cities of the United States and Canada, equipped with cutting machinery to shape and fabricate the metals to the customers needs. The Group's customers include metal users within the Fortune 500 list of companies as well as thousands of medium and smaller sized firms. On 05-Sep-2006 the Group acquired Transtar Intermediate Holdings #2 Inc. Metals Segment accounted for 89% of 2005 revenues and Plastics Segment, 11%
