Ashton Mining Limited is a major diamond producer and worldwide diamond explorer, with a market capitalisation that ranks among the top 25 Australian resource companies. Ashton mines and sells diamonds from the Argyle and Merlin diamond mines and mineral exploration. It is also involved in gold mining and mineral exploration. In the year 1994 the company sold it's gold division, however it still has a 35% interest in Aurora Gold Limited. More than 90% of the company's operations were carried out within Australia. The company has subsidiaries in the USA, Canada, South Africa, Indonesia, Finland , Malaysia, Singapore and the Netherlands.
