Bowater Incorporated. The Group's principal activities are to manufacture, sell and distribute newsprint, uncoated specialty paper, coated groundwood paper, market pulp, lumber and timber. It operates in five divisions: Newsprint, Coated Papers, Specialty Papers, Lumber and Market Pulp. On 31-Dec-2006, the Group owned, leased or possessed cutting rights to approximately 27.9 million acres of timber lands to support its facilities. The Group has 12 pulp and paper mills in the United States, Canada and South Korea and 10 sawmills in North America, which produces softwood and hardwood lumber. The Group's products are marketed primarily in the United States, Canada, Korea, the United Kingdom, Mexico, Italy, Brazil and Japan.
