Audible, Inc.. The Group's principal activity is to provide audio versions of books and newspapers and radio programs. This is provided over the Internet and can be streamed and played back on personal computers and hand-held electronic devices that have digital audio capabilities. The Group's services help consumers to purchase and download content from Web site (www.audible.comTM) and store it in digital files. The Group also sells its own digital audio player under the brand name of Otis, which is manufactured in Korea. It offers more than 32,000 hours of audio content on its Web site, including daily selected audio content from publications such as The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times, audio versions of books and periodicals and radio programs. It also offers over 4,500 audiobooks from publishers including Random House Audio Publishing and Time Warner AudioBooks. Audible content and services accounted for 91% of 2002 revenues; Hardware, 8% and Other revenue, 1%.
