First USA Inc is one of the largest credit card companies in the United States and is both an issuer of Visa and MasterCard credit cards and is also a processor of credit card transactions on behalf of merchants. The company operates through its wholly owned subsidiary First USA Financial Inc, which is the parent company of the two primary operating subsidiaries, First USA Merchant Services Inc and First USA Bank. Commissions and fees accounted for 80% of fiscal 1996 revenues; other interest income, 12% and other income, 8%.
