AMC Entertainment Inc.. The Group's principal activity is to own and operate movie theatres through its subsidiaries. It licenses first-run motion pictures and exhibits them in the theatres. The Group has three reportable segments namely North American theatrical exhibition, International theatrical exhibition and NCN and other. The Group also provides on-screen advertising and other services. It develops and operates megaplex and multiplex theatres, primarily in large metropolitan markets. At 30-Mar-2006, the Group operated 413 theatres with a total of 5,603 screens. The theatres are located in North America, Portugal, Spain, France, Japan, Sweden, China and the United Kingdom.
