Reading Entertainment, Inc.. The Company is into two lines of business namely the development and operation of multiplex cinemas in Australia, New Zealand and Puerto Rico and development and operation of cinema based entertainment centres in Australia and New Zealand. The Company currently operates twenty-one cinemas with 146 screens in Australia, New Zealand and Puerto Rico. The Company is also in the business of developing entertainment centers, typically consisting of a multiplex cinema, complementary restaurant and retail uses, and convinient parking all located on land owned or controlled by the company. On April 5, 2000, the Company sold a 50% interest in the Angelika Film Centres LLC. Cinema operations accounted for 98% of 2000 revenues and real estate development, 2%.
