Nelvana Limited

Nelvana Limited is a united family entertainment company which operates in television and feature film production and distribution, merchandise licensing and publishing. It was founded in 1971 and since then, the company completed over 40 productions at its Toronto studio and distributes its own programming worldwide to over 160 countries through sale offices in Toronto, Los Angeles, London and Paris. It owns the merchandise licensing rights to a broad base of classic and contemporary characters including a well-known properties as Babar, Little Bear, Franklin and Rupert. It also owns Kids Can Press with a blacklist of over 250 titles. Production and distribution accounted for 87% of 1999 revenues and branded consumer products, 22%.
