Houghton Mifflin Corporation. The principal activities of the Group is publishing and its operations are divided into three segments which are, K-12 Publishing, College Publishing and Other. The K-12 publishing segment includes textbooks and other educational materials and services for the kindergarten through grade twelve, or K-12, school markets. College Publishing includes textbooks and other educational materials and services for the post-secondary higher education market. The Other segment includes operating divisions not involved in educational publishing like, fiction, nonfiction, children's books, dictionaries, reference materials and is also involved in the development and delivery of computer-based testing solutions to corporations and associations throughout the globe. K-12publishing accounted for 73% of 2000 revenues; college publishing, 17% and other, 10%.
