Media General, Inc.. The Group's principal activities are to publish newspapers, operate broadcast television stations and provide interactive media services. The Group operates in three segments: Publishing, Broadcast and Interactive media. Publishing segment publishes 25 daily newspapers and nearly 150 weekly newspapers and other publications in Virginia, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina and Alabama. Broadcast segment includes the operations of 23 network-affiliated broadcast television stations and and it operates more than 75 online enterprises. This segment also provides equipment and studio design services. Interactive media segment provides online news, information and entertainment to its customers without geographic restrictions. Publishing accounted for 61% of 2006 gross revenues; Broadcast, 36% and Interactive Media, 3%
