EVS Broadcast Equipment SA(EVS). The company designs, develops and sells broadcasting equipment. Products include digital video-recorders used in sport broadcasting of events such as the Sydney Olympic Games and the 1998 Soccer World Cup for high quality replays (Super Live Slow Motion). Through Video Systems Engineering SPRL, a 99% held subsidiary, EVS provides split screens broadcasting, which allows to broadcast several TV channels on the same TV set simultaneously. The company also owns the French company, NETIA which is involved in the world of digital radio, TV and Internet broadcasting. Other activities include special effects creation, image storage and after-sales services. Over 2,300 EVS and NETIA systems are in use in over 50 countries worldwide. Slow motion recorders accounted for 57% of 2001 revenues; webcasting, 25% and audio servers, 18%.
