Gray Communications Systems Inc. The principal activities of the Group are television broadcasting, publishing & paging operations. The broadcasting segment operates thirteen television Stations located in the Southern, Southwestern and Midwestern United States. The publishing segment operates four daily newspapers in four different markets located in Georgia and Indiana, and an area weekly advertising only publication in Georgia. The paging operations are located in Florida, Georgia, and Alabama. Television station revenues are primarly derived from local, regional and national advertising and, to a much lesser extent, from network compensation and revenue from studio and tower space rental and commercial production activities. The company's paging operations had approximately 90,000 units in service. Broadcasting accounted for 71% of 2000 revenues; publishing, 24% and paging,5%.
