Appligene Oncor

Appligene Oncor specialises in the design, production and distribution of reacting substances and instruments for laboratory research in molecular biology. Reactive substances include specific enzymes, products from chemistry and fragments of DNA. The medical instruments are designed in order to aid the study of genes. There is quite a distinction between Appligene products and Oncor products. In general the Appligene products are destined for the general study of all living matters, whereas the Oncor products are more specific, such as those involved in the study of human genes and molecular biology. The major clients of the company would include L'INSERM, CEA and CNRS. Created in 1985 the company became publicly held in July 1996. Oncor products accounted for 40% of 1998 revenues; reactive substances, 25%; instruments, 17%; services, 4% and other activities, 14%.
