Axcan Pharma Inc. The Group's principal activities are to develop, manufacture and distribute pharmaceutical products in the field of gastroenterology. The products of the Group are used in the treatment of a variety of gastrointestinal diseases and disorders. Products like ULTRASE and VIOKASE are used for the treatment of certain gastrointestinal symptoms. URSO 250 is used for the treatment of certain cholestatic liver diseases. SALOFAK and CANASA are used for the treatment of certain inflammatory bowel diseases. PHOTOFRIN is used for the treatment of certain types of gastrointestinal and other conditions. Apart from these, the Group also offers products like BASALJEL, COPTIN, HELISAL One STEP, LACTEOL, TRANSULOSE, TRANSITOL, TAGAMET, MUDOLIN, SALOFALK and AMPHOJEL. The Group operates in Canada, the United States, Europe and other foreign countries.
