Entremed Inc. The Group's principal activity is to sponsor and conduct research and development of therapeutics primarily for the treatment of cancer. The Group's lead drug candidate Panzem(R) (2-methoxyestradiol or 2ME2) is currently being tested as a cancer therapeutic in four Phase 2 clinical trials and has been granted United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Orphan Drug designation in three cancer indications. The Group's other drug candidate MKC-1, a novel cell cycle inhibitor, is also in Phase 2 clinical trials for cancer.
