Aastrom Biosciences, Inc.. The Group's principal activity is to develop autologous cell products for use in regenerative medicine. Its platform Tissue Repair Cell (TRC) technology is based on its cell products which are a unique cell mixture containing large numbers of stromal, stem and progenitor cells, produced outside of the body from a small amount of bone marrow taken from the patient. The Group intends to pursue TRC-based cell products for the following therapeutic areas: Vascular tissue regeneration, Bone tissue regeneration, Cardiac tissue regeneration and Neural tissue regeneration. The Group has developed a patented manufacturing system to produce human cells for clinical use. This automated cell manufacturing system enables its "single-pass perfusion" cell culture process.
