IDEC Pharmaceuticals Corporation. The Group's principal activities are the research, development, manufacture and commercialization of targeted therapies for the treatment of cancer and autoimmune and inflammatory diseases. The Group's two commercial products are Rituxan and Zevalin. Rituxan is a genetically engineered, chimeric murine/human monoclonal antibody designed to harness the patient's own immune mechanisms to destroy normal and malignant B cells. Zevalin, the Group's radioimmunotherapy product delivers targeted immunotherapy by means of injectable radiation to target sites expressing the CD20 antigen, such as lymphatic B-cell tumors. The Group is also developing products for the treatment of various diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis, allergic asthma and allergic rhinitis.
