CBC-Compagnie Generale de Batiment et de Construction SA is a construction company which constructs prestige non-residential and residential buildings, primarily office buildings by prominent architects, in addition to residential apartment buildings. It also renovates period buildings and undertakes rehabilitation of urban areas. The company is also involved in land and real estate activities. It has subsidiaries in Belgium, Spain, Great Britain, Germany, the Czech Republic and New Caledonia. Following a litigious dispute over a contract in Berlin (Germany), the capitalisation of the company was dramatically reduced in 95, and the principal shareholder decided to purchase a majority of the publicly held stock and withdraw the company from the market until further notice. Construction activities in France and abroad accounted for 83% of 1995 revenues; real estate, 10% & other activities, 7%.
