Vulcan Materials Company. The Group's principal activity is to produce construction aggregates and asphalt and ready-mixed concrete in the United States. The construction aggregates include crushed stone, sand and gravel, rock asphalt and recrushed concrete. In addition, the Group operates 59 truck, rail and water distribution yards, located in select market areas for the sale of aggregates products. During the year 2005, it shipped 260 million tons of construction aggregates from 283 aggregates production facilities and sales yards in 20 US states and Mexico.
