The Group's principal activities are to manufacture and market cement, jute goods, textile yarn, and other products such as carbide and gases, PVC goods, auto trim parts and steel foundries. The Group operates in mainly in three segments namely Cement, Jute and Other. Its plants are located at Satna in Madhya Pradesh, Chanderia in Rajasthan, Kolkata, Birlapur and Durgapur in West Bengal, Raebareli in Uttar Pradesh, Chakan in Maharashtra and Gurgaon in Haryana. The Group operates only in India. Cement accounted for 88% of fiscal 2006 gross revenues; Jute, 10% and Other, 2%
