Fletcher Challenge Ordinary Division

Fletcher Challenge Ordinary Division operates in three businesses - building materials, pulp and paper and energy. It also holds a 58.9% interest in Fletcher Challenge Forests Division. Building industries comprises building materials, wood products and construcion. Building materials produces a range of products including aggregates, cement and concrete products, gypsum wallboards, steel products, insulation and building papers. Wood products are involved in lumber production and wood-based panel manufacturing. Construction operates in residential, commercial, civil, marine and industrial construction in New Zealand, Australia, the Asia-Pacific region and the United States. Pulp and paper produces market kraft pulp from four sites in two countries, and paper from 11 sites in seven countries. Market kraft pulp is sold to manufacturers of printing and writing papaers, tissue, packaging and paperboard. Energy resources include oil and gas reserves in New Zealand and Canada. Exploration and development are conducted in those areas and in South-East Asia. Building activities accounted for 48.9% of fiscal 1995 revenues; pulp and paper, 42.5%; energy, 8.3% and corporate activities, 0.3%.
