Carbo Ceramics Inc. The Group's principal activity is to produce and supply ceramic proppant for use in the hydraulic fracturing of natural gas and oil wells. The Group also provides fracture and reservoir diagnostic services, sells fracture simulation software and provides fracture design services to oil and gas companies worldwide. The Group manufactures four distinct ceramic proppants CARBOHSP, CARBOPROP, CARBOLITE and CARBOECONOPROP. The Group sells its products and services to operators of oil and gas wells and to oilfield service companies to help increase the production rates and the amount of oil and gas ultimately recoverable from these wells. Its products are marketed worldwide through its sales offices Aberdeen, Scotland, Moscow, Russia and through commissioned sales agents located in South America, China and Australia and through a distributor in Saudi Arabia.
