(formerly known as Green Tree Financial Corp) is a diversified financial services company providing financing for manufactured homes, home equity, home improvements, consumer products and equipment, consumer and commercial revolving credit. Through its principal offices in Saint Paul, Minnesota and 45 regional service centers throughout the United States, Green Tree serves all 50 states. The company originates, pools, sells and services conditional sales contracts for new and previously owned manufactured homes, home improvements and special products. The company also markets homeowners' insurance and life insurance to its customers. Commissions and fees accounted for 66% of 1997 revenues and interest income, 34%.
