American Health Properties, Inc. (The Psychiatric Group), is a self-administered real estate investment trust which specializes in quality health care facilities. In July 1995, the company decided to separate its portfolio of investments into two business segments, The Core Group, which consists of acute care hospitals, rehabilitation hospitals, assisted living facilities, skilled nursing facilities, medical office/clinic facilities and alzheimer's care facility. The second segment called The Psychiatric Group, consists of psychiatric hospitals. Interest income accounted for 58% of 1998 revenues and rental income, 48%.
