Capital Automotive REIT. The Group's principal activity is to own and lease real estate properties. It also owns and leases franchised automobile dealerships, motor vehicle service, repair and related businesses. It has been approved as a Real Estate Investment Trust under sections 856 through 860 of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended. As on 30-Jun-2005, the Group had invested more than $2.5 billion in 345 properties located in 32 states comprising approximately 2,584 acres of land and containing approximately 14.9 million square feet of buildings and improvements.
