Stewart Information Services Corporation. The Group's principal activities are to provide title insurance and real estate information services. The Group operates in two segments: Title Insurance and Real estate information. Title segment includes the functions of searching, examining, closing and insuring the condition of the title to real property. Real estate information segment provides electronic delivery of data, products and services related to real estate transactions. The services include title reports, flood determinations, property appraisals, mortgage documents, credit reports and tax services. It provides post-closing services to lenders, including document retrievals, lien releases and loan pool certifications. The Group operates through a network of direct and agent offices throughout the United States. On 03-Feb-2006, the Group acquired Monroe Title Insurance Corporation. In January 2007, Stewart REI Group sold its aerial photography and mapping businesses, GlobeXplorer(R) and AirPhotoU.
