Simon Property Group, Inc.. The Group's principal activities are to own, operate, manage, lease, acquire and develop real estate properties. The Group has been approved, as an Investment trust as defined by sections 856 through 860 of Internal Revenue Code. The real estate properties of the Group include regional malls and community shopping centers. As of 31-Dec-2006, the Group owns interests in 286 income-producing properties that include 171 regional malls, 69 community shopping centers, 36 Premium Outlet centers and 10 other properties in 38 States and Puerto Rico. It also own interests in five parcels of land held in the United States for future development. Internationally, the Group has ownership interests in 53 European shopping centers, five Premium Outlet centers in Japan and one Premium Outlet center in Mexico. On 01-Nov-2006, the Group acquired 50% interest in Mall of Georgia from its partner.
