Company Description
Garan, Incorporated. The Group's principal activities are designing, manufacturing and selling apparel for men, women and children including boys, girls, toddlers and infants. The products include tops (shirts and sweatshirts) and bottoms (trousers, skirts, shorts, sweat pants and overalls). The fabrics are cotton or polyester-cotton blends. Tops are made mostly from knit fabrics and bottoms are made from knit and woven fabrics. The Group operates primarily on the basis of two seasons - Spring/Summer and Fall/Holiday. The products are sold to mass merchandisers, major national chain stores, department stores and specialty stores. Children's apparel accounted for 82% of fiscal 2001 revenues; Women's apparel, 12% and Men's apparel, 6%.
