AmerisourceBergen Corporation. The Group's principal activity is the wholesale distribution of pharmaceutical products and related healthcare services and solutions. It operates in two segments. The Pharmaceutical Distribution segment distributes a full line of brand name and generic pharmaceuticals and over-the-counter medications throughout the United States and Puerto Rico. These products are sold to institutional pharmacies including hospitals, doctors' offices mail order pharmacies and retail pharmacies. The PharMerica segment provides institutional pharmacy services in long-term care and alternate care settings. It also provides mail-order pharmacy services to chronically and catastrophically ill patients under workers' compensation programs. During October 2005 it acquired Trent Drugs Ltd and during 2006 it acquired, Network for Medical Communication & Research LLC, Brecon Pharmaceuticals Limited, Rep-Pharm Inc, I.G.G. of America Inc, Health Advocates Inc and Access M.D. Inc. Pharmaceutical Distribution accounted for 97% of fiscal 2006 gross revenues and PharMerica, 3%
